PopRally invites you to The Best of the Würste, an evening of culinary invention and friendly competition inspired by the exhibition Counter Space: Design and the Modern Kitchen. Enjoy exclusive access to the exhibition, centered around MoMA's recent acquisition of an iconic "Frankfurt Kitchen" from the late 1920s, and savor a selection of sausages prepared by some of New York's most in-demand chefs.
The compact Frankfurt Kitchen, designed by architect Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky, redefined the kitchen as a site of modern thinking and a testing ground for new materials and technologies. With this in mind, each of our chefs will bring this same spirit of innovation to the storied craft of wurst making, serving up daring takes on the classic German staple. At the end of the evening, the crowd will award bragging rights to the chef who made the best wurst!
Our talented slate of competitors includes Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli (Prime Meats and Frankies Spuntino), Phillip Kirschen-Clark (Vandaag), Gabriel Kreuther (The Modern), and Tom Mylan (The Meat Hook). MoMA’s Cafe 2 (Lynn Bound and Cristina Nastasi) will prepare accompanying snacks and dessert, and Brooklyn Brewery and Sud de France wines will provide tailored beverage pairings.
